ICAS past paper development is managed by our Head of Assessment Content Chelsea Bernal
ICAS past papers are developed by our assessment content team, with support from designers and other staff members.
They’re a mixture of both former and original ICAS questions that are adapted for the past paper format, designed to be as close as possible to the actual competition.
Each past paper goes through an extensive quality control process so that every question is guaranteed to match the right learning area and skill level for the student. As a result, they can take 12 months or longer to create.
They’re a labour of love, which is why students find them so valuable!
We’re glad you asked! A lot of work goes into creating questions for ICAS past papers. Our assessments team use psychometric science to pinpoint the “just right” zone of difficulty, before spending a year+ to write, design and review each question. They then test them individually to ensure they reflect the latest ICAS assessments as closely as possible.

Yes. Bundle discounts apply across both practice packs and individually selected past papers when a total of four or more papers is purchased.
Yes. You can combine past papers across multiple ICAS subjects and year levels, with discounts applied based on the total number of papers purchased.
Yes. You can purchase multiple practice packs across different year levels or subjects. However, packs for the same year level and subject may contain overlapping papers, so we generally recommend selecting one practice pack per year level and subject.
When you purchase past papers, we email them to your designated email address. Please check your email inbox (including the spam/junk folder) to access them.
2019 and 2020 past papers include interactive features like page navigation and auto-marking, which are accessible when opening the PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
2021 past papers are fully online and accessible through a web browser, and include all interactive features as standard.
To access all 2019 or 2020 past paper interactive features including instant marking, online completion and unlimited re-sits, they must be opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader on a laptop or desktop computer.

Yes. Schools can purchase past papers using a debit or credit card. They don’t require a school code.
Past papers are electronic PDF documents that can be easily copied and cannot be returned, so unfortunately, we can’t provide refunds once they’ve been purchased. Please ensure that you have the correct papers in your cart before completing your purchase.
Our 2021 past papers are online, rather than being in PDF format. They can be accessed by clicking the "Start paper" link in your order confirmation email.
In some cases, browser or device settings may affect access to online past papers. If you experience an issue, try opening the paper in a different web browser or on another device.
If you've accidentally used your attempts by loading the test and closing the browser without completing it, please contact our customer service team, who may be able to reset your attempts.
