Terms and Conditions for ICAS Student Scholarship Program (Australia & New Zealand)

Last updated: 29 May 2025

Eligibility

The ICAS 2025 Student Scholarship Program (“Scholarship”) is open to school-aged students who are eligible to participate in the ICAS 2025 academic competition (“ICAS 2025”) in Australia or New Zealand.

To be eligible, a student must meet all of the following criteria:

a) The student must either:

  • have already registered for ICAS 2025; or
  • intend to register for ICAS 2025 during the registration period.

b) The student must participate in ICAS 2025 through one of the following approved channels:

  • At their school located in Australia or New Zealand, regardless of whether registration was completed by the school or via the ICAS parent payment system;
  • At a Cliftons ICAS testing centre located in Australia; or
  • Through FOCUS Education in New Zealand.

The Scholarship is not open to students participating in ICAS 2025 through EQDemic or Eduvision in Australia.

How to Apply

To apply for the ICAS 2025 Student Scholarship, a parent or legal guardian must complete and submit the official online scholarship application form on behalf of the student.

As part of the application, the parent or legal guardian must answer the following question on their own behalf and on behalf of their child:
“Why is it important to participate in the ICAS 2025 academic competition?” Responses must be 250 words or less.

No additional supporting documentation is required at the time of application.

Given that eligible students are school-aged (typically Years 2–12), applications must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. By submitting the application, the parent or legal guardian confirms that:

  • They are legally authorised to act on behalf of the student.
  • They consent to the student’s participation in the Scholarship and the ICAS 2025 competition.
  • All information provided in the application is true, accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge.

Consideration will be given to applications that clearly articulate one or more of the following:

  • Financial barriers (e.g., socioeconomic disadvantage);
  • Geographic barriers (e.g., remote or rural location);
  • Other relevant barriers that may impact the student’s ability to participate in ICAS 2025.

Only one application may be submitted per student. Duplicate or incomplete entries may be deemed invalid.

Applications must be received within the published scholarship application period. Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Judging and Selection Process

All scholarship applications will be reviewed and assessed by a panel appointed by ICAS (“Judging Panel”).

The Judging Panel will evaluate applications based on the responses to the application question, with consideration given to applicants who demonstrate financial, geographic, or other relevant barriers impacting their ability to participate in ICAS 2025.

The decisions of the Judging Panel are final and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into.

ICAS reserves the right to not award all scholarships if suitable candidates are not identified.

Scholarship Value and Allocation

A total of up to 200 Scholarships will be awarded under the ICAS 2025 Student Scholarship Program.

Each Scholarship is limited to a total value of up to AUD/NZD $100 (as applicable) and may be applied exclusively toward:

  • ICAS 2025 subject entry fees; and/or
  • Associated ICAS practice tools, including ICAS past papers.

Each Scholarship will be issued in the form of a single-use voucher code, redeemable at the time of purchase. The full value of the Scholarship must be used in a single transaction. Any unused balance will be forfeited and cannot be rolled over, refunded, or credited for future use.

The Scholarship is not redeemable for cash and cannot be transferred or exchanged for other goods or services.

Where a student has already registered for ICAS 2025 and/or purchased eligible ICAS practice tools (including past papers) prior to receiving the Scholarship, they may be eligible for a discretionary refund and a voucher for the remaining balance, up to a total combined value of AUD/NZD $100 (as applicable).

The following conditions apply:

a) Refunds will be issued only in relation to eligible purchases made directly through the ICAS Parent Payment System or other authorised ICAS ordering channels;

b) The portion of the Scholarship that corresponds to already-paid ICAS registration fees will be refunded to the original payment method where possible or via an alternative method at the discretion of the Promoter;

c) Any remaining balance of the $100 Scholarship value will be issued as a single-use voucher code to be redeemed in one transaction on eligible ICAS products (e.g., practice tools and past papers);

d) Proof of purchase must be provided to claim any applicable refund;

e) The total combined value of the refund and voucher will not exceed AUD/NZD $100 per Scholarship;

f) Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of receiving notice of the Scholarship award.
